On May 18th we took over the @Thriftstylist Instagram account as the #villagerforaday. We styled and photographed our #thriftfinds from one of our favorite local thrift shops, Arc's Value Village! For the past 30 years, Arc’s Value Village has helped better the lives of adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities through their non-profit "The Arc." Check them out at any of their five Arc's Value Village stores in Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, New Hope, Richfield and St. Paul. This was a really fun collaboration, shout out to Michelle Raven for her getting us involved. Check out our thrifted outfits below!
Ian's Outfit #1
This is a casual, urban look that's perfect for biking around the city. Here you'll see three pieces from Arc's Value Village: 1) a Structure dark charcoal button-up 2) a classic Jerzees burgundy long sleeve and 3) black Levi's jeans. When I pair these thrifted finds with some of my biking essentials, I'm ready to ride off to the breweries! I am always searching for commuting basics that balance form and function for when I zip around town.
Yana's Outfit #1
Yana's first outfit is a funky and bright tomboy look that showcases two items from Arc's Value Village: 1) a vintage Jam's World dress and 2) an Alfagear cherry print duffel bag. To make this outfit extra punk she paired these finds with chunky combat boots, black leggings, and a dark purple lip.
Ian's Outfit #2
This outfit features two items from Arc's Value Village: 1) orange Adidas soccer shorts and 2) a grey and orange workout shirt. Arc's Value Village has an awesome athleisure section where you can find all types of quality athletic wear for great prices! You can find me rocking this combo in a park near you on the weekends.
Yana's Outfit #2
As a photographer and stylist, Yana's go-to outfit for work needs to be sophisticated and sleek but still easy to move around in. During our trip to Arc's Value Village she found two pieces that made a perfect on-the-go combo: 1) a light and loose fitting Moa Moa sweater and 2) a grey City Lights crop top! This outfit was a great addition to her work wardrobe.
Ian's Outfit #3
I usually wear these camo pants casually, but this newly thrifted black Structure button-up from Arc's Value Village classes up this street style look. I enjoy how adding one item like this to an outfit can completely transform it from one look to another. I'm ready to hit the town with this classy meets wild ensemble.
Yana's Outfit #3
Yana's third and final outfit showcases a beautiful pair of black flowing pants designed by Adrianna Papell, purchased from Arc's Value Village at a steal - $8.99! This outfit is perfect for a romantic date night. These pants make such a strong statement that she wanted to keep the rest of her outfit soft and sleek. Yana loves wearing neutral tones and slightly off-setting them with a light hue, like this rosy pink tank!
